Change your password

Changing your login password regularly helps protect your system from unauthorized access.

Check with your agency administrator about your agency's password policy. For example, your agency may require you to change your password every 60 days.

Note: If you do not change your password within the specified time frame, you are locked out of Civic Platform and must either change your password or have an administrator do it for you. To help you remember to change your password, Civic Platform displays daily warnings about an upcoming password expiration date starting 15 days before expiration.

You can change your password from the login page if allowed by your agency. You may also be able to change it from within Civic Platform if allowed by your agency.

To change your password from the login page

Follow the directions on the login page. Contact your agency administrator with any questions.

To change your password within Civic Platform

Note: The ability to change your password in Civic Platform must be configured by your system administrator and may not be available if not configured. Contact your system administrator for more information.
  1. From the main menu bar, select the Launchpad icon .

  2. Select All Pages.

  3. In the Filter list field, type preference.

  4. Select Preference management.

  5. Select the Change password tab.

  6. Enter your old password.

  7. Enter your new password in both the New password and Confirm new password fields.

  8. Select Submit.
