Add, edit, and apply asset conditions

Asset conditions, also known as critical notices, can be identified within Civic Platform.

Example: Manholes may have excessive toxic gas. When a work order is issued to inspect or repair the manhole or linked pipe line, a notice will be issued with the work order so that the worker will know how to handle the situation correctly. The critical notice or condition may be similar to this: “Excessive toxic gas in manhole. Manhole must be forced to air vent for one hour before entering.”

Asset conditions specify requirements for an application that an applicant must fulfill in order to qualify for approval. Although asset conditions do not necessarily impose holds, they may prolong the application process until they are met.

When an asset is linked to a work order, the work order checks for active conditions on the asset. If the asset has one or more active conditions, a message displays at the top of the page, showing the highest severity condition and the total number of conditions. If the asset has an active lock condition, the work order cannot be saved. See Asset conditions on work orders for more information.
