Add, view, or delete asset links
You can link two assets to create a parent-child relationship between them. You can also view, edit, and delete asset links.
You can link one or more assets as children to a parent asset. When a parent-child relationship is created, a child-parent relationship is also created.
To link an asset to a parent asset

From the Assets page, find and open the desired asset record.

Select the Linked assets tab.

In the hierarchy tree, select the parent asset and then select Associate asset.

On the right side of the page, search for the assets to link:

From the Asset group list, select the desired asset group.

From the Asset type list, select the desired asset type.

Complete additional fields as desired. See Asset fields for field definitions.

Select Submit.

Select the check box next to each asset you want to link.
Note: An asset can only be linked to one parent asset. Assets already linked to a parent asset will not display in the search results.

Select Select.
You can view or print the details of any child asset linked to a parent asset.
To view or print details about a linked asset

From the Assets page, find and open the desired asset record.

Select the Linked assets tab.

In the hierarchy tree, select the desired asset.

Do one of the following:

To review asset details, view the information on the right side of the page.

To print asset details, select Menu > Print page.

You may need to remove a link between two assets if a link was made by mistake or an asset will be moved or used differently.
To delete an asset link

From the Assets page, find and open the desired asset record.

Select the Linked assets tab.

In the hierarchy tree, select the check box for each asset you want to unlink.

Select Delete.
