Set permissions for custom fields and custom lists

You can set access permissions for custom fields and lists on the Custom fields security page. This includes setting access permissions for entire groups and/or subgroups of custom fields and list.

To set permissions custom fields and lists

  1. From the Administration menu, select Application > Custom fields security.

  2. In the tree navigation, find and select the groups, subgroups and/or individual custom fields and lists to which to assign access permissions.

    Notes:

    • To apply permissions to all fields and/or lists listed in a group or subgroup, select the top level of Custom fields group or Custom lists group.

    • To search for a custom field, select Search, enter the field name (up to 24 characters), and then select OK. Civic Platform highlights all matched records in red throughout the entire navigation tree.

  3. When you select a group, subgroup, or individual custom field or list, it appears in the right section with a Permissions tab displayed.

  4. In the Permissions tab:

    1. Hover over Assign and select an assignment option. The options are Agency, Module, Group, and User.

    2. Select the check box next to the assignment option to assign.

    3. Select Submit.

      Notes: 

      • For more information on configuring the assignment options, see Assign recipients and permissions.

      • You can delete access permissions by selecting the check box next to the items to remove and selecting Delete.
