Add or edit contact type security
Civic Platform divides contacts into two categories: record contacts and reference contacts. Record contacts are associated or manually added to records by users. Reference contacts are accessed from the Reference contact page. When you assign contact type security, you only are assigning it for record contact types.
You assign contact type security access in the Contact type setting page. From Record contacts in the navigation tree, you select a contact type and then establish the security levels for modules, user groups, and individual users. See Assign record contact type security for more information.
Note: Using the CONTACT TYPE standard choice, you can configure which record contact types display under Record contacts and whether they are set up as “for transactions” or “for both.” Based on your standard choice configuration, security policies are effective in Civic Platform, Citizen Access, and/or Accela Mobile.
